Stewarts paintings are set in a landscape he has built a close relationship with over the last 15 years. Reflected in this dynamic painting is his dedication to working directly in the extremes of Dartmoor weather. 'For me its about allowing something that is beyond my control to come through - allowing the place, the wind, the weather directly into the painting'.
His emerging style is a unique visual passion for natural space, a snapshot of inspirational quality, revealing feelings & emotions within the place itself. Holne, Hucken, Sharp Tor and Hound Tor are featured including Buckland Beacon, Combstone Rocks, East Prawle, Dunnabridge and many views of the Dart. Classic bluebell woodlands are a passion with Hembury an often painted favourite along with Gallant Le Bower.
